Welcome! I am Mary Kuhl, a Christian Science practitioner listed on PrayerfulLiving.com (please right click on all the light blue links), and the writer of this blog. I am class taught, have been a Mother Church member for over 50 years, and have been active in branch churches in almost every capacity since graduating from Principia College. A list of my articles and testimonies is included on this website’s side menu. In addition, I am a wife, mother, and grandmother!
For over four years I have been studying the KJV Bible and Science and Health with the Spiritual Concepts Approach (SCA) at PrayerfulLiving.com. In addition, I am one of the proofreaders, a contributor, as well as the Facilitator for the SCA online study group.
Gradually I began applying this method of studying our Pastor to parts of the Bible Lesson (BL).
The method has unfolded incredible spiritual insights, spiritual growth, and healing, plus the ability to interpret Bible text spiritually, as Mary Baker Eddy expected us to do. There have been many WOW moments!
Mrs. Eddy wrote in the Church Manual,
“The Readers of The Mother Church and of all its branch churches must devote a suitable portion of their time to preparation for the reading of the Sunday lesson, — a lesson on which the prosperity of Christian Science largely depends.” (Man. 31:4-9 The)
By implication, this includes all of us who read and study the BL during the week!
How are we reading it? Do we study it? Dig deeply into it? Or are we quickly skimming over it, squeezing in our 20 or 30 minutes before we race out the door?
The SCA has so fired me up about what is contained in the Bible and S&H and then applying it to the the BL that I cannot keep it to myself. It must be shared with other Christian Scientists.
The purpose of this blog is to show how to study using the SCA, and apply it to parts of the BL with great results. It is based 100% on Science and Health, and can be successfully used with the KJV Bible to enable one to understand it spiritually.
Utilizing the concepts learned from the SCA, the Lesson is now compelling, spiritually enriching, exciting, and healing.
